Why Childhood Shines Here
Children do not need every minute filled, every activity perfected, or every day pushed along. They need a place where they feel secure enough to explore, comfortable enough to be themselves, and supported by someone who notices the little things.
They Feel SeenSmall-group care makes room to know each little as an individual — their personality, preferences, routines, comfort signals, growing independence, and wonderfully specific opinions about snack cups.
They Know the RhythmA predictable daily flow helps littles know what comes next, while flexibility keeps the day responsive to real children instead of forcing everyone through a rigid schedule.
They Get To CreateArt, music, stories, sensory play, dramatic play, movement, and imagination are woven naturally into the day. Creativity is not saved for special occasions here.
Families Stay ConnectedClear communication helps home and care work together. Important updates are shared as needed, and pickup includes a practical rundown of how the day went.
What makes LROS Different
Thoughtful structure. Plenty of room to be little
LROS is intentionally small, personally run, and designed around the way young children actually move through a day. Littles are given boundaries without being boxed in, choices without being overwhelmed, and support without being rushed past their feelings.
Activities are offered with purpose, but participation is encouraged rather than forced. Some days the planned project becomes the favorite part of the morning. Other days a cardboard box, a song, or a trail of bubbles steals the show. That flexibility is not a failure of the plan - it is part of knowing when to follow the children in front of you.
Meet Yay-Yay
The steady grown-up behind the sunshine.
Hi, I’m Rei—founder and care provider at Little Rei’s of Sunshine. Most littles call me Yay-Yay.
I believe children do best when they feel safe, seen, supported, and genuinely liked. My approach is warm and playful, but still practical. I get on their level, speak to them respectfully, offer clear boundaries, and build trust rather than demanding it on arrival.
A Space Made for Playcare
The entire lower level of the home is dedicated to care, with its own entrance, bathroom, kitchen area, nap room, and thoughtfully arranged spaces for play, reading, creativity, sensory exploration, movement, and rest.
The environment feels home-like because it is part of a real home—but it is intentionally organized for littles. Materials are within reach, transitions are considered, and the space can shift with the ages, interests, and needs of the group.
Two dogs are part of the home environment and remain outside the playcare level.
A Day at LROS
Our days follow a familiar flow, but they are never rushed. The exact timing can change depending on the littles, the weather, naps, big feelings, exciting discoveries, and the occasional toddler-level plot twist.
-
Littles settle in through open-ended play, familiar choices, and a gentle transition into the day.
-
Stories, songs, movement, hands-on activities, sensory play, and simple learning moments support curiosity and growth.
-
Outdoor play comes before lunch when weather allow, followed by lunch and a peaceful rest or quiet-time transition.
-
Afternoons include creative play, snack, connection, and relaxed choices as the day moves toward pickup.
Looking for care that feels personal?
LROS may be a good fit for families who value a small group, a familiar daily rhythm, creative play, respectful boundaries, honest communication, and a provider who sees care as a relationship—not a transaction or a tiny-human assembly line.
If this sounds like what you have been searching for, the next step is simple. Tell me a little about your child, the schedule you need, and your preferred start date.

LROS Creative is where printables, children’s activities, coloring pages, books, planning tools, and slightly feral grown-up resources live. Some are helpful. Some are funny. The best ones manage to be both.
